Privacy policy for users of the EOD service and the website

User data

The EOD Service of the University and Regional Library of Tyrol (University of Innsbruck) processes the data, which we have received from the users of the EOD Service, based on the order form for digitisation for the following purposes:

  • Operation of a Europe-wide digitisation service for the administration, execution and delivery of worldwide digitisation and reprint orders to the costumers and participating partner libraries
  • To compile usage statistics

Without the provision of your data, the EOD Service cannot perform its contractually agreed task.

Data Processors

We use the following order processors for the data processing:

  • End-user data of the EOD service when selecting the additional product Print on Demand to Amazon Media EU S.à r.l. for ordering and delivering print books directly to the end users (fulfilment of contract according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit f iVm)
  • In the case of invoicing: the respective accounting department of the involved partner library

Data transmission

The University and Regional Library of Tyrol passes on user data to the following third parties (“recipients”) or recipient categories:

  • End user data as part of the EOD service in the case of online payment to VIVEUM Zahlungssysteme GmbH, Riemergasse 14/30, 1010 Vienna, Austria

Storage period

We store your data for 7 years in accordance with statutory storage obligations, the data will be anonymized afterwards.

Cookies

Our website uses so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device by your browser. They do not cause any harm.

We use cookies to make our offer user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. They allow us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

If you want to disable cookies, you can modify your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases.

Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website.

Piwik/matomo

This website uses Piwik/matomo, an open source software for statistical evaluation of access by visitors. Piwik/matomo uses cookies. The information about your use of this website generated by the cookie is stored on the web server. You can prevent the storage of cookies by a corresponding setting of your browser software.

After being processed, and before being stored, the IP address is anonymised. However, we want to emphasize that despite the fully activated anonymisation function, total anonymisation cannot be achieved, but is merely a pseudonymisation. Piwik/matomo creates an internal hash value, which is calculated from various factors such as the IP address, the resolution, the browser, the plugins used and the operating system. Even with the anonymization function activated, this heuristic uses the full IP address for internal purposes, which makes it - with some effort – possible, to recalculate the values down to the IP address and thus to very probably deduce other information as well.
