International conference on use and re-use of digital content

Preliminary call for participation
On 11 April 2014 the international conference "Sustaining the networked future: use and reuse of digital content" will be hosted by the University of Innsbruck, the coordinator of the eBooks on Demand (EOD) network.

The conference sheds light on the challenges and possibilities of adding value to the digital materials, the role of libraries in delivering value to the users as well as sustaining the content, data, metadata and beyond it. How can digital materials be visible, stay visible, be linked and endure?

The keynote speaker of the conference is Martin Kalfatovic, an expert of library technology, digitisation, digital libraries and online exhibitions from Biodiversity Heritage Library and Smithsonian Libraries, USA. The full programme will be announced shortly on the conference website.

Prior to the conference, on 10 April the EOD network meeting looks back on the last 5 years of the EOD project and 7 years running the EOD service. The experts from the EOD network will share experiences to support the EOD and related services continuously on a high-quality level.

Participation in the conference, EOD meeting and social programme is free. The registration is open until March 31 via the conference website.

The conference is organised by the University and Regional Library of Tyrol (University of Innsbruck), together with the members of the EOD network.
