A network of 50 libraries in France started to offer the eBooks on Demand (EOD) service

Toulouse and Midi-Pyrénées Universities Libraries Network is opening up the public domain collections of fifty libraries for digitisation-on-demand via EOD service.

80 000 documents published before 1904 can now be ordered as EOD eBooks from the Toulouse and Midi-Pyrénées Universities Libraries Network. Each year the documents of the progressive year become eligible for digitisation. The collections can be browsed and digitisation orders can be placed directly from two catalogues: Archipel and Sudoc. Additionally the collections will become available  through the EOD common search engine during the next months.

The collections of the Toulouse and Midi-Pyrénées Universities Libraries Network contain nearly 50 000 major patrimonial items predating 1815, including around 2000 printed documents from the 16th century and 1000 manuscripts. The treasures include Montauban’s former Faculty of Protestant Theology’s collection, the Fernand Pifteau collection on the history of Toulouse, the Toulouse Natural History Society’s collection and the former Capuchin Convent of Toulouse’s Spanish religious collection. The digital library Tolosana already has 13 corpuses with about 670 000 pages available online. The EOD Service will also allow interested users to discover the Tolosana’s patrimonial wealth after 1815.

EOD eBooks can now be ordered online from 38 libraries or library networks in 12 European countries by anyone interested in historical books. The EOD Library Network is coordinated by the University and Regional Library of Tyrol (University of Innsbruck).
